Mani. Located on the southern Peloponnese, aplace of unique scenery. A mountainous area with rugged cliffs. Aplace of history, legends and traditions. Mani is a place of serene but also fierce beauty, where everything is built out of stone. Stone houses were built like fortresses, with tall watch-towers and today's traveler can see at least 800 of them scattered in the approximately 250 sunlit villeges amongst wild olive groves overlooking deep blue waters. Free people the "Maniotes", the people of Mani, have always inhabited this remote and peculiar area. They are rough, proud, and extremely hospitable.
